Chicago Bulldogs Youth Hockey Club

The Chicago Bulldogs are pleased to announce the newest addition to its coaching staff.  Coach Chris Wickersham has joined the Bulldogs as the Bantam Hockey Director.  He will also serve as the Head Coach for both the Bantam Major and Bantam Minor teams for the 2017-18 Season.

As both a hockey coach for the last 10 years and a former NCAA Division III student-athlete, Coach Wickersham says he is “focused on coaching, training, and helping our Bantams reach their goals.“  He also enthusiastically said, “The time to start is now, not mid-summer.”

Wickersham comes to the Bulldogs from Aurora Universities NCAA D3 team where he coached the last two seasons.  Prior to Aurora, he spent one season as a player development coach with the Green Bay Gamblers of the United States Hockey League (USHL). Coach Wickersham has over 6 years of AAA coaching experience under his belt, working with the Bantam and Midget levels for both CYA and Team Illinois.    Chris also has over five years of scouting experience in the USHL and the North American Hockey League (NAHL). He is a graduate of St. Mary's University (Minnesota), where he played four seasons of NCAA Division III hockey.

Many of Chris’ former players have moved up the ranks and played Division 1 hockey, including a handful of players who were selected in the NHL Draft. Some of Chris’ former players include: Anthony Louis (Rockford AHL), JT Compher (Colorado NHL), Taylor Cammaratta (U of Minnesota), Jack Jenkins (Notre Dame), Max Kalter (Uconn), Anthony Walsh (Yale), Jordan Himley (Air Force), and Patrick Curry (Boston Univ.).  Through this past season, over 45 of Chris’ former players competed at the Division 1 level.

You will see Coach Wickersham around the rink this week as he is looking forward to meeting our current players and begin preparing for the upcoming season!
